Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the ETasks mobile application (“App”) for iPhone. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App. These Terms are published at https://etasks.ertem.es/terms.html.

1. The service

ETasks is a client application that lets you view and manage tasks stored in your Google Tasks account. The App is not developed by, endorsed by, or affiliated with Google LLC. Google Tasks is a separate service subject to Google’s terms and policies.

2. Eligibility

You must be able to form a binding contract and comply with applicable laws. You must have a valid Google account and grant the permissions the App requests to use sync features.

3. Your account and responsibilities

• You are responsible for activity under your Google and Apple accounts used with the App.
• You must keep your device and account credentials secure.
• You must not use the App to violate any law, infringe others’ rights, or abuse Google’s APIs.
• You are responsible for the content of tasks you create or edit.

4. Google sign-in and third-party services

The App uses Google OAuth to access Google Tasks on your behalf. Your use of Google services is governed by Google’s terms and privacy policies. You can revoke the App’s access through your Google Account settings at any time.

The App may also use Apple services (App Store, iCloud, notifications). Those services are governed by Apple’s terms and policies.

5. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms and the App Store rules, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

You may not:

• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code except where law permits
• Redistribute, sublicense, or sell the App except as allowed by the App Store
• Use the App to build a competing service that misappropriates our work
• Interfere with the App’s operation or Google’s infrastructure

6. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information. By using the App, you also agree to the Privacy Policy.

7. Availability and changes

We strive to keep the App reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Sync depends on Google’s APIs, your network, and your device. We may update, modify, or discontinue features with or without notice. We may update these Terms; the “Last updated” date will change. Material changes may be communicated through the App, App Store listing, or this website.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT SYNC WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR THAT DATA WILL NEVER BE LOST; YOU SHOULD MAINTAIN BACKUPS IMPORTANT TO YOU (FOR EXAMPLE, VIA GOOGLE TASKS OR OTHER TOOLS YOU TRUST).

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR DEVELOPERS, DISTRIBUTORS, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP OR GOOGLE TASKS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY US DOLLARS (USD $50), IF YOU USED A FREE VERSION.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party’s rights, except where caused by our intentional misconduct.

11. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it and revoking Google access. We may suspend or terminate your ability to use the App if you breach these Terms. Sections that by nature should survive (disclaimers, limitations, indemnity) will survive termination.

12. App Store

If you obtained the App through the Apple App Store, Apple is not a party to these Terms except as a distributor. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App. To the extent allowed by law, Apple has no warranty obligation for the App.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the developer is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.
